Seattleites, tune in to 1150AM KKNW this Wednesday from 8am-9am when Bob Betz of Betz Family Winery and I will be talking about Washington wine on TableTalk.

Today, just a few pictures from a trip last week to the Willamette Valley. Click on the pictures for larger images.

  1. Mmmm...Willamette Valley Porn...

It's so beautiful down there especially during the fall around sunset when the hills have a golden glow. Strangely, I never traveled there until two years ago, and it was one of those, "Where have you been all my life?" moments.

I love the small wineries tucked all over the place, and if you're into Oregon wine, driving down certain roads (like 99W) is like a going to Disneyland as a kid.

  4. I love Eastern Washington but it's desert climate doesn't quite capture the imagination the way Willamette Valley wine country does. Beautiful year round.

  5. Clive, very distinct areas. The lush greenness of the Willamette Valley stands in stark contrast to the desert of eastern Washington. Moss on the vines? Who'd have thunk?
