
The fruit for the 2006 Sorella, Andrew Will’s flagship wine, is from the Champoux Vineyard. The average age of the vines from this vineyard is 30 years. The wine is aged in Taransaud new French oak barrels – among France’s finest. This is the second consecutive vintage the Sorella has received a 95 point rating from Wine Spectator. As mentioned in a previous post, few Washington wines have received this rating (15) or above (5). The only wineries to receive a 95 point or higher rating in consecutive vintages in Washington are Quilceda Creek and Leonetti for their Cabernets in 2003 and 2004 and 1989 to 1991 respectively.
