November Virtual Tasting - Russell Creek Tributary Red 2006

November's virtual tasting will be Russell Creek's Tributary Red 2006. Russell Creek is a Walla Walla producer. The Tributary Red - one of the few blended wines this winery makes - retails for $20. The last four vintages of this wine have received a rating of 89 or above from Wine Spectator. We will see how the 2006 stacks up.

For those in the Seattle area, the wine is available at Esquin and Pete's Bellevue among others. For those in Washington state, the wine can occasionally be found in supermarkets such as Thriftway. For those outside of the state, buying directly from the winery is your best bet.

The Virtual Tasting will take place on Monday November 24th. I will be opening the bottle at about 7pm and posting my notes later in the evening. Please join us in trying this wine and posting your notes.

  1. I gave this wine a + on the Sullivan Scale. It was deep purple in color and spicy on the nose with pepper and a hint of eucalyptus. The primary fruit was cooked plums. This was a very tannic, thick wine - a softer finish would have bumped it up to a *.
