Tamarack Cellars, located in the airport region of Walla Walla, is perhaps best known for its red table wine, the Firehouse Red. This wine accounts for more than half of the winery’s production and receives wide distribution. However, Tamarack’s vineyard-designated reserve wines – seldom seen outside of the winery – are where winemaker Ron Coleman truly excels.
The original plantings of vineyards at Seven Hills were put in in 1981. The present day vineyard encompasses over 200 acres and is considered among Walla Walla’s finest. Tamarack’s 2003 Seven Hill Reserve, a Bordeaux blend, is drinking extremely well and is not yet at its peak.
